A standard practice for A-Meets is to place the competition areas off limits beginning one year from the event. This maintain the integrity of the courses and ensures that every competitor has an equal advantage. Please review our embargo instructions and maps for the U.S. Champs.
Embargo for the University of West Georgia
The campus is open. Beginning on Thursday 4/12/2012, competitors will be restricted to the parking area and a designated route from the parking area to the start/spectator/finish area. A map of this route will be provided at a later date.
Embargo for Chattahoochee Bend State Park
All of Chattahoochee Bend State Park is off limits until the event weekend. This includes the roads that border or pass through the park: Payton Road, Flat Rock Road, Mt Carmel Road, and Bud Davis Road. Beginning Friday 4/13/2012 you may camp in the camping area in the park, but do not leave the roads or the campground.

Georgia Orienteering Club (GAOC), chartered in 1980 by the United States Orienteering Federation (now Orienteering USA), fosters the sport of orienteering through education, outreach, map development, and competitive events.
GAOC has hosted more than 20 national A-Meet competitions since 1985 including the U.S. Interscholastic Champs (2000), U.S. Trail-O Champs (2001), U.S. Radio-O Champs (2002), and the United States Orienteering Convention (2003).
